Canterbury is one of the UK's most popular tourist destinations and consistently one of the Kingdom's most-visited cities. The Cathedral is on the grounds of one of the oldest schools in England, The King's School, founded by King Henry the Eighth, as part of his endeavour's to support education of Britain's youth.
This stunning city is also home to some of the region's finest restaurants and multiple universities. An easy one hour train ride from London, you can spend weeks here. Be sure not to miss Canterbury Cathedral, The HIgh Street, Dane John Park, and the river gondolas cruising along the crystal clear waters of the River Stour.

Take a train to two of the best walks in Kent.
Some of the best walks to be had in all of England are just a short train ride from Canterbury East Station. Get off at Adisham Station for a walk among agricultural fields, and take in the scenic woodlands, dairy cows and sheep, or the undulating fields wonderously rich with yellow rapeseed before summer harvesting.
Even closer to the City of Canterbury, Bekesbourne Station is close to Howlett's Zoo on one side, and the village of Patrixbourne on the other.
